The Employment Help Centre, (St. Catharines, Welland, Grimsby, Smithville) has been providing the jobseekers of Niagara with assistance to help them launch their job searches since June 6, 1983.
Twenty-five years ago the Centre started with a small office and a few employees in St. Catharines. We are now celebrating our 25th Anniversary and provide employment programs and services in Welland, Grimsby, Smithville and St. Catharines.
To celebrate this huge achievement The Employment Help Centre ran a contest for a new Logo and Slogan (known as the Slogo Contest) to reflect transitions from the past and new directions for the future. This was open to all individuals in the Niagara Region. The Slogo Contest submission deadline had been on May 25, 2008 and all entries were presented to a panel of judges. The panel consisted of Paul Carfagnini (Divine Marketing), Julia Coles (Advertising Manager with the Standard), Walter Ostanek (three time Grammy Award winner), Andrea Vandenberg (EHC Operations Manger), Naomi Beirnes (EHC Job Developer and entrepreneur), and Stan Drobnich (EHC Executive Director).
We would like to thank all the participants. The response was overwhelming and due to the quality of the submissions it really gave our judges a difficult time trying to decide which entries would represent the Employment Help Centre in the future.
“The winning entries have been selected and will be announced after the unveiling at our 25th Anniversary Celebrations the evening of June 25th, 2008. In addition, the creators of our new look will be introduced,” said Stan Drobnich, Executive Director of The Employment Help Centre. “Everyone at The Employment Help Centre looks forward to another twenty-five years serving the people of Niagara.”
