COMPUTER BASICS WORKSHOPS:

Computer Beginner Workshop – Introduction to Computers
You will learn the basic operation of a computer, including how to use the mouse and how to create a folder.

Computer Basic Internet Workshop – Introduction to Internet/Using Internet On-Line Application
You will learn to set up an e-mail account, how to put attachments to your e-mails and how to surf the Internet.

Computer Basic Word Workshop – Word Processing Part 1
You will be introduced to Word where you'll learn how to cut and paste and format and edit documents. This is a good learning option for those wanting to create and edit their own resumes and cover letters.

Computer Basic Word Workshop – Word Processing Part 2
You will get to put into practice what you have learned in WORD 1 by creating your own Job Search Disk.

Using E-mail for Job Search – Introduction to E-mail
Set up an e-mail account and learn how to do On-Line Applications, send e-mails, resumes and attachments.

 

 

How to Win the Job Interview Game
Join us for a fun-filled 2 hour workshop on the tricks and tips for successful Interviews. We'll cover common questions asked by employers, why they ask them, what they're really looking for and how to develop answers that move you to the top of their list! We'll also discuss the often over-looked very important steps you need to take BEFORE you go for the interview.

SMART SERVE WORKSHOP
The Employment Help Centre, in conjunction with the Niagara Women's Enterprise Centre, hosts Smart Serve Ontario. All persons who are looking for work in the area where alcoholic beverages are served should be trained. This includes security and door staff. You will receive the Smart Serve Ontario Certification and pin on successful completion of this course.

WHMIS WORKSHOP
The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is Canada's national hazard communication standard. The key elements of the system are cautionary labelling of containers of WHMIS "controlled products", the provision of material safety data sheets (MSDS’s) and worker education and training programs. You will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the training.
