The official ribbon cutting for the ONTARIO TRILLIUM FOUNDATION GRANT - providing new technology for Employment Resource Network was held Friday June 20, 2008 at the Employment Help Centre, St. Catharines office.

The Employment Resource Network is dedicated to providing professional and effective assistance to the job seekers of Niagara.

A grant was received from the Ontario Trillium Foundation allowing the Employment Resource Network to purchase state of the art computers and software. These were purchased strictly for the use of our clients to update their skills and to help them do job search. We have been able to expand access to computers with current technologies and offer practical training for our clients who are seeking to gain or upgrade their computer skills for the current labour market.

Attending the ceremony were MPP Jim Bradley, Ontario Trillium Foundation representative, Christine Clarke, YMCA Director of Employment and Newcomer Services, Deanna D'Elia, and Manager of Niagara College's Job Connect Program, Mike Bauer.

The Employment Help Centre, the YMCA of St. Catharines and Niagara College Job Connect can now provide faster and better technology tools to help Niagara-area clients in their job searches, in upgrading their computer skills and in gaining a competitive advantage in the Niagara labour market.
