Moyer Diebel Limited is a leading manufacturer of stainless steel Commercial Dishwashers and we are looking for a Technical Support/Service Technician to join our Service department.

As a member of the Service/Customer Support Team, reporting to the National Service Manager, the Tech Support/Service Technician will provide technical repair guidance to customers, service agents and sales representatives, process and track customer orders for parts, and provide field support for installations and renovations of larger equipment/systems.

Duties:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interact with customers, dealers and field technicians to troubleshoot industrial dishwashing equipment, chemical dispensing systems and conveyor systems
  • Handle telephone calls, assist customers in finding part numbers, process part orders, track shipments and problem-solve machine issues that cannot be fixed by field technicians
  • Assist the National Service Manager with technical service bulletins and illustrations
  • Manage and participate in all aspects of installations and renovations of larger dishwashers and conveyor systems, including co-ordination and supervision of contracted installers, manpower, parts and equipment requirements
  • Work with a contracted national network of service companies to support customer needs for warranty and after warranty service requirements
  • Approve service expenditures and warranty documentation
  • Travel on national basis as needed (less than 10% of the time)
  • Participate in trade shows, including set-up and tear down
  • Assist with technical training seminars as required
  • Assist with documenting technical information for the purpose of constructing service manuals;
  • Respond to after-hours technical assistance for emergency situations
  • Be proficient in all aspects of order entry, shipments, and invoicing for service and related items within company’s MRP (Microsoft Dynamics AX).
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in technical discipline is required
  • Previous experience repairing & troubleshooting commercial kitchen equipment would be an asset
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical service manuals, schematics and blueprints is a must
  • Solid electrical background necessary and knowledge of basic plumbing required
  • Knowledge of PLC control, programming, and troubleshooting
  • Excellent interpersonal & communications skills – telephone/customer service skills – must interface with customers, service technicians, co-workers and shop floor employees
  • Background or understanding of steam heated/ natural gas heated systems an asset;
  • Self-directed, able to work with little or no supervision
  • Ability to multi-task – must be able to prioritize and change direction as situations arise throughout the day
  • Results-oriented team player who thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment;
  • Proficient with computers – MS Office/Lotus notes
  • Familiarity with a manufacturing environment operating under an MRP system an asset (Microsoft Dynamics AX)
  • Bilingualism (French) is strongly preferred but not required
  • Must be available to work between hours of 8 am and 6 pm

  • Salary Range: $61,000 - $64,000 per year
