A local landscape company is looking to hire full time labourers for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate is a motivated individual who has previous experience or who is willing to work hard and learn. For the right candidate that proves they are a good fit, with training, a higher position and wage is available.
Duties:
- Assist with landscape construction
- Weed, prune and trim trees and plants
- Cut and rake grass
- Collect and remove litter and garbage
- Cart and spread topsoil and other materials
- Lay sod or seed
- Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs and trees
- Apply fertilizers
- Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
Requirements:
- Valid G licence
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Own transportation to and from main work site
- High School Diploma or post secondary education is an asset
- Team player
- Physically fit and previous physical work experience
- Reliable and dependable
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Flexible and organized
- Experience and familiarity with small engine equipment, weed trimmer/edger is an asset
Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, ability to distinguish between colours. Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching and kneeling.
Site environment varies and can include but is not limited to:
- Working at heights, confined spaces
- Hot/cold, wet/damp
- Noisy/dusty
