PL Light Systems

This position involves the assembly of light and control units used in the horticulture industry. Using a variety of hand & power tools, fixtures, work instructions and test equipment to perform a series of operations to correctly assemble/test lighting devices while maintaining a steady rate of production.

Duties:
  • Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures
  • Comply with policies, guidelines and regulatory requirements per the Quality System
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Production Supervisor
  • Prepare work station with required parts, tools, and materials for the job
  • Assemble light fixtures and sub components by studying assembly instructions, in a timely and high quality fashion, including but not limited to, inserting and routing electrical wires to various interfaces on light assemblies and control units according to a blueprint
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Complete other tasks as needed by supervisor
Requirements:
  • A team player with a positive, proactive attitude
  • Proven experience as an assembler
  • Ability to read & comprehend assembly build documents, drawings etc.
  • Ability in using tools (e.g. clamps) and machines (e.g. presses)
  • Strong attention to detail ensuring high quality workmanship while maintaining a steady rate of production
  • Good understanding of quality control principles
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanically inclined, familiar and comfortable working with hand tools, insertion and extraction equipment, point to point testers and cable scan units
  • Ability to use hands to finger tighten, handle, or feel
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arms length, stoop, kneel, and crouch
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 5 kilograms, occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 kilograms
