Smithville Home Hardware is currently looking for a Lumber & Building Materials Manager to join their team.

Purpose:

To lead, motivate, and train a team of sales associates that will provide exemplary service to our customers and to create a department that that exceeds customer expectations for selection and availability of product.

Duties:
  • Delivering excellent service to ensure highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Maintain departmental inventory at desired levels for maximum turnover and profitability
  • Motivate the sales team to meet sales objectives through training and mentoring
  • Contribute to store goals by achieving assigned sales targets for department
  • Be familiar with and keep up to date on prices and practices of competitors
  • Keep up to date with new building materials and lumber products, including their uses, advantages and disadvantages
  • Creating business strategies to attract new customers, expand store traffic and enhance profitability
  • Semi annual performance reviews
  • Review Corporate updates and newsletters weekly on Connect to stay current on new items and processes
  • Attend store meetings as required (meetings may be after store hours)
  • Work in a safe manner and complete all required safety training in accordance with provincial and federal safety legislation
