Reception & Research Assistant – #5807 -A

St. Catharines Enterprise Centre (SCEC)
The St. Catharines Enterprise Centre (SCEC) requires a temporary, part-time Reception and Research Assistant to help with office programming. Reporting to the Small Business Consultant & Manager, the successful applicant will assist in delivering programming that benefits small business owners and startups.
- First point of contact for inquiries to the Enterprise Centre via phone, email and walk in visits
- Share business information and resources with clients
- Coordinate the client intake process
- Prepare startup packages and handouts
- Gather information for client meetings and for client follow up
- Provide information, and customer service to entrepreneurs in the process of starting or running a small business
- Organize seminars and workshops including registrations, reminders, confirming speakers and related logistics
- Assist in event management
- Client Relationship Management data entry
- Collect, record and submit statistics to the SCEC Manager
- Maintain files and spreadsheets for Economic Impact Tracking, Enterprise Centre Reporting and similar record keeping needs
- Assist in Economic Impact Tracking activities
- Assist in the day to day operations and programming as part of the team at the SCEC
- College Diploma or Certificate
- Two years’ experience in a customer service and administrative capacity related to the duties listed above normally acquired through a combination of education and related work experience
- Organizational skills and proven record-keeping abilities
- Research, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to learn and share business concepts
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and internet (or other similar software programs)
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management software (Salesforce) considered an asset
- Ability to coordinate diverse programs and people
- The ability to recognize and keep confidential information
- A demonstrated commitment to enhancing safety culture

Expected Work Location: St. Catharines Enterprise Centre (14 Ontario Street)
Hours of Work: Monday through Friday, 25 hours per week
