Make Money Training for a Good Job

Youth Job Connection offers paid pre-employment services and workshops, followed by a paid job placement.

YJC Overview

If you are between the ages of 15 and 29, and you’re not working or in school, you can gain skills, get paid to learn and make connections in the community.

Paid Training

Receive 60 hours of paid training to prepare for the workplace. Workshops include Interview Skills, Resume and Cover Letter Writing, WHMIS, Health and Safety, Confidence Building, Stress Management, Networking and Career Exploration.

Job Placement

We’ll help to match you with a paid job placement (up to 26 weeks) with training support, while providing incentives for participating employers.

Friendly Support

You’ll gain the support of an employment counsellor and job developer throughout your job search and transition into the workplace.

YJCS | Youth Job Connection: Summer

YJCS provides summer, part-time and after-school job opportunities to high school students, aged 15 to 18, who might need support transitioning between school and work.

To be eligible for the YJC program, you must be:

• Between the ages of 15 and 29 at the time of registration

• A resident of Ontario

• Eligible to work in Canada

• Unemployed and not currently in school

• Experiencing barriers in securing employment or keeping a job
