Please note that Niagara Parks operates seasonally; therefore, this position is expected to begin between April and July, depending on operational needs.

What You’ll Do

  • Display a friendly, positive attitude consistent with the image of the NPC.
  • Performs cashier duties including receiving payments for green fees, cart, and club rentals, and for various golf merchandise.
  • Opens/closes the pro shop, prepares register float, change orders, closing statements and reports.
  • Executes tee time reservations, issues rain checks and gift certificate sales.
  • Organizes, coordinates, and executes in-house golf leagues.
  • Assist with product receiving, inputting, pricing, stocking, and merchandising.
  • Organizes, books, prepares, and maintains wholesale and package reservations.
  • Assist with inventory management and audit preparation functions.
  • Responsible for merchandise displays, cleanliness, and overall pro shop appearance.
  • Organize and conduct various tournament functions.
  • Communicate with starter and on-course rangers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provides training on equipment to seasonal and student staff.
  • Performs pesticide and fertilizer applications.
  • Irrigation Repair & Trouble shooting and performs Irrigation Auditing.
  • Helps with construction Projects (i.e drainage, irrigation additions & deletions).
  • Completes IPM Scouting.
  • Completes Record Keeping (i.e fertilizer & pesticide applications, weather).
  • Pre-Operation Inspection Records Management
  • Completes Pesticide & Fertilizer Inventory.
  • Track’s drought stress & moisture content monitoring of Greens Tees & Fairways.
  • Inform golfers of potentially threatening weather / lightening shelters and procedures.
  • Assist with cart cleaning / recycling when necessary.
  • Complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, First Aid, and established policies and procedures.
  • Provide guests with information about the golf course and other NPC attractions.
  • Provide guests with expert information and insight relative to the game of golf, equipment, and merchandise as required.

What You’ll Bring

  • Successful completion of Highschool or its equivalent.
  • Completion of or enrolled in PGM Diploma
  • Knowledge of the game of golf, play protocol and golf operations.
  • Specialized equipment and product knowledge.
  • Knowledge of cash register and cash handling procedures.
  • Knowledge of NPC facilities and services, knowledge of relevant health and safety procedures.
  • Familiarity with basic Microsoft applications and software.
  • Previous leadership experience is an asset.
