Sobeys, a local grocery store in Grimsby is seeking a Meat Clerk to join their team. This is a part time position for the day shift and has the potential for full time hours.
The ideal candidate must be available to work various days and hours throughout the week Monday to Sunday for day shifts.
Duties:
- Supports the Meat Manager by maintaining and replenishing product inventory, checking stock levels and preparing and processing customer orders
- Weigh, wrap and price meat products
- Basic understanding of government legislations regarding meat products
- Maintain clean and sanitized work stations at all times
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of meat products
- Excellent customer service skills
- Able to communicate effectively with customers and staff
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team
- Able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience preferred but not required
- Safe Food Handling certificate, an asset
- WHMIS training, an asset
- Health & Safety training, an asset
