Position Summary:
The Production Worker is responsible for assembling structural building components, including trusses, panels, and trim, in accordance with precise specifications and quality standards. The Production Worker is responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints and production documents, as well as using various hand and power tools to ensure the product is manufactured to the exact requirements.

Health and Safety:
Commitment to safety by following company safety rules and regulations, which include:

  • Following the Uniform policy, wearing proper PPE.
  • Identifying and reporting unsafe conditions or hazards.
  • Maintaining a clean and neat work environment

Production Work:

  • Assembles trusses and panels and manufactures trim.
  • Uses various hand and power tools to perform tasks such as hammers, measuring tapes, fastening devices, nail guns, saws, etc.
  • Properly handles all material while checking for quality and defects.
  • Measures and cuts lumber to specified dimensions to support production activities.
  • Ensures product is manufactured to precise specifications.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and other relevant documentation for accurate production of trusses, panels, and trim.
  • Carries out proper safety and cleaning protocols on production lines, machinery, and equipment.
  • Completes machinery and equipment inspections.
  • Ensures all activities are recorded and logs are up to date through production software.

Business Objectives:

  • Works together with the Industries team to meet deadlines and achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Provides ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement.
  • Effectively uses down time to sustain shop cleanliness and perform required maintenance. Additional

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for any and all other duties as may be required from time to time in accordance with proper training and certification requirements.
  • Completes training and demonstrates competency in 3 of the following areas: Linear Saw Operator, Stacker, Lumber Picker, Plate Picker, Saw Tailer, Material Coordinator, Truss Builder, Panel Builder, Forklift Operator, Moulder Operator, Rip Saw Operator – Level 2
  • Completes training and demonstrates competency in 5 of the following areas: Linear Saw Operator, Stacker, Lumber Picker, Plate Picker, Saw Tailer, Material Coordinator, Truss Builder, Panel Builder, Forklift Operator, Moulder Operator, Rip Saw Operator – Level 3
    • Completes training and demonstrates competency in 7 of the following areas: Linear Saw Operator, Stacker, Lumber Picker, Plate Picker, Saw Tailer, Material Coordinator, Truss Builder, Panel Builder, Forklift Operator, Moulder Operator, Rip Saw Operator – Level 4

Qualifications: Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Knowledge or previous experience in truss, panel, and/or trim manufacturing.
  • Experience handling lumber and able to effectively check for quality and defects.
  • Experience reading blueprints and interpreting them for accurate production of trusses and/or panels.
  • Experience using construction-related tools.
  • Experience in the construction industry is considered an asset.

Abilities/Skill Requirements:

  • Able to follow instructions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is considered an asset: Truss or Panel Assembly,Linear Saw Operation, Lumber Picking, Plate Picking, Saw Tailer, Component Saw Sawyer, Stacker.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safety.
  • Able to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • General math and measuring skills
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Minimum lift requirement of 66 lbs.
  • Frequent lifting and handling of heavy items is required as part of the daily job duties.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
