Malivoire seeks a permanent full-time Vineyard Equipment Operator.

Position Overview
The Vineyard Equipment Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery used in our 80-acre certified sustainable vineyard operations. This role reports to the Vineyard Manager and supports all stages of wine grape production, including planting, cultivation, spraying, and harvest, while ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
• Operate agricultural equipment such as tractors, forklifts, sprayers, mowers, and cultivators
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery to ensure proper function
• Assist with vineyard tasks including planting, pruning, trellising, irrigation, and harvest
• Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides according to safety and regulatory guidelines
• Monitor equipment performance and report mechanical issues promptly
• Follow all health and safety procedures, including safe handling of chemicals and machinery
• Maintain accurate records of equipment use, maintenance, and field activities
• Attends and participates in meetings as required
• Support retail, event and cellar operations as needed, including manual labour tasks such as bottling

Qualifications
• College diploma or equivalent (agricultural training is an asset)
• Previous experience operating farm or vineyard equipment preferred
• Mechanical aptitude and basic repair skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of safe equipment operation and agricultural practices
• Ontario pesticide application spray license an asset
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Skills and Abilities
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials
• Basic understanding of vineyard operations is an asset

Working Conditions
• On site in Beamsville, ON
• Outdoor work in all weather conditions
• Early mornings, extended hours, and weekend work during peak seasons (e.g., harvest)
• Exposure to dust, noise, and agricultural chemicals

Compensation
We offer competitive wages ($24-$26/hr based on experience), performance-based incentives, comprehensive benefits, and coverage of business-related expenses.
