Mountainview Orchards Inc., is a local, family owned and operated tender fruit and apple orchard, located in Beamsville, On. For 40 years we have been proud to bring premium quality produce to our community through many different avenues.
We are thankful that through the past number of years we have experienced significant growth and are now preparing to expand our team with the addition of a Packline Manager Assistant.
Note: This position will be Full-Time, Monday-Friday, and possible occasional Saturdays. This position will be full time, though the responsibilities and duties will change once packing season concludes and will be discussed beforehand.
**Performance Reviews: at 3 months (End Probation), 6 months (In House, Medical Reimbursement Benefits Plan), and 12 months, with bi-annual check-ins.**
Responsibilities Include:
Leadership & Collaboration
- Help lead the pack line team on day-to-day operations
- Support the packing crew in which ever tasks need to be completed
- Proactive with an attitude and ability to move with the fast pace of production
Operations & Reliability
- Oversee the pack line operation programs
- Ensure the correct labelling/traceability is put on the cases and pallets so that they are ready for shipment
- Maintain/Improve equipment capabilities and overall performance
- Building strong cross-functional relationships across operations
- Support in optimizing storage space for raw and finished goods
- Driving operational discipline, consistency and accountability
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Work with General Manger to ensure the food safety procedure are being followed
- Ensure food safety documentation is being completed
Desired Skills, Knowledge, & Experience:
- Valid Forklift Licence and able to drive a forklift responsibility
- Hands-on, visible leadership style
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Highly organized with a systems mindset
- Ability to balance strategic priorities with day-to-day operations
- High standards across safety, quality and performance
- Resourceful with an eye for continuous improvement opportunities and the ability to recommend and implement positive change
- Able to lift 40 lbs
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Attention to detail
- Mechanical experience
