Skyline Contracting is seeking an Exterior Building Maintenance Technician / General Labourer to join our team in Caistor Centre, ON. The role requires travel to various job sites, travel is often within one hour of Skyline’s Headquarters. The candidate will report to the Skyline Contracting yard in Caistor Centre, at 7:30am, Monday – Friday, and be dispatched in the Skyline Fleet.
The Technician should be well-versed in roofing systems, including sloped shingle, metal, and flat. The Maintenance Technician performs hands-on repair, maintenance, and inspection work on exterior building systems — including roofing, siding, eavestroughs, soffit, fascia, and sealants. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in high-quality workmanship, and is comfortable working independently or as part of a small service team.
As a customer-facing role, they must excel in communication and customer service, addressing any concerns and ensuring a positive customer experience.
This role is focused on field execution — administrative responsibilities include documenting work performed, completing service reports, and maintaining tools, equipment, and vehicle organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A valid G-Class Driver's License with a clean driver abstract;
- Experience in operating a truck and trailer;
- Certified and confident with Working at Heights;
- Extensive experience in the trades, with a solid understanding of various disciplines;
- Proficient in the use of power tools;
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Strong understanding of the building envelope and the ability to apply the Ontario Building Code
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform maintenance and repairs on various roofing and exterior building systems (flat, shingle, metal, siding, soffit, fascia, eavestroughs, sealants)
- Conduct inspections and provide clear documentation of work completed
- Follow work orders and instructions provided by the Foreman or Superintendent
- Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards
- Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicle organization
- Complete service reports and submit documentation accurately and on time
- Communicate professionally with clients and teammates while on site
- Support other team members as needed to complete projects efficiently
