A local Smithville custom fabrication shop is looking to hire a labourer to assist with fabrication duties. The ideal candidate is a jack of all trades, who is mechanically inclined with a flare for creativity. This position offers full time hours Monday – Friday.
Duties:
- Assist with idea generation and design of custom products
- Bending, cutting and welding of various metals
- Operate various types of machinery including power, hand and air tools
- Shearing and forming of metal
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Load and unload products/equipment
Requirements:
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
- Mechanically inclined with experience working with various types of equipment and tools
- Work well with minimal supervision
- Able to work in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Good manual dexterity
- Reliable transportation
- Familiarity with welding, however employer is willing to train on welding techniques
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Able to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs alone
- Prior fabrication shop experience is an asset
