ATTCH Niagara
Under the direct supervision of the clinical director, the ATTCH Niagara Therapist II provides skilled and specialized therapy and individual, conjoint, family and group therapy to a range of clients through a variety of programs and services.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Provide individual, couple, family and group counselling using a variety of modalities to a wide range of clients, with varying presenting issues, with a focus on trauma specific treatment
- Design and facilitate group programming
- Provide support to peers and students as needed
- Administer and score assessments
- Train students, staff, and contracted therapists, to score and administer assessments
- Perform administrative duties inclusive of assisting with intake and phone/email/in person inquiries as needed to assist reception
- Formulate a trauma informed treatment plan for each assigned client and utilize the most effective treatment or service throughout the treatment process
- Provide information to collateral contacts, as necessary and in accordance with established procedures
- Keep the clinical supervisor informed of general case management information as well as exceptional situations, events, or transactions which may have implications for the agency
- Maintain therapeutic competence and promote professional development through reference to professional literature and by participation in professional development programs in the agency and the community
- Liaison with community or service organization’s as delegated
- Participate in community-based committees as delegated
- Be responsible to assist with program development
- Identify individual professional development needs to the supervisor, in order that performance may be maximized
- Actively uphold the principles identified in the social work and/or psychotherapy code of ethics
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- MSW degree or MACP degree or equivalent plus trauma specific clinical experience
- Eligible for licensure, certification or registration with the appropriate regulatory body (e.g., RSW, RP)
- Training in EMDR and CRM preferred
Record Checks
You will be requested to provide a police vulnerable sector check clearance from your local police service. This will need to be completed on an annual basis as a condition of employment. The fee will be reimbursed by ATTCH Niagara when a receipt is provided along with the completed police clearance. This offer is contingent on providing a police check that is determined to be satisfactory by the agency.
