Charlie Bee Honey located in Beamsville is currently seeking seasonal staff for the 2024 season. We are looking to fill a variety of full time positions from Bee Keepers to General Labourers to Apiary Technicians. These positions are seasonal offering 40 plus hours per week throughout the season. There is some potential for permanent, year round employment.
- Daily beehive management and maintenance
- Handle, feed and care for bee colonies
- Daily inspections of the general health of bee colonies and responding to any health issues that might arise
- Preparation of hives for transportation
- Preparation of hives for pollination
- Perform regular bee yard maintenance
- Operate and maintain machinery and equipment, tow motor, packing and extracting line
- Assist in the harvesting of honey
- Keep proper production records
- Experience in the Apiary field a definite asset, but not required
- Ability to drive a manual transmission; AZ / DZ is an asset but not required
- Must be available to work long hours and regular overtime during the season
- Heavy lifting is required
- Must be a team player and be able to work well and efficiently alone or as part of a crew
- Some travel may be required within Ontario and Manitoba
- Must have a valid and G license and clean driving abstract
- High School diploma
- Must have steel toe shoes
- NO allergies to Bees
- Spanish is an asset but not required
