The Homes for Special Care Program provides housing, meals and assistance with daily living for adults living with mental illness. This is a province-wide program and Lincoln Lodge currently has 31 beds with both female and male residences. We are seeking Personal Support Companions. This position offers part and full time hours. Flexible.
Duties:
- Plan & prepare meals with assistance
- Perform light housekeeping duties that clients cannot complete on their own
- Be a pleasant & supportive companion
- Report any unusual incidents
- Maintain open communication between families & health care professionals regarding client's medical & emotional condition
- Document & report any changes in client's health status
- Ensure highest client safety and well-being
Requirements:
- High school diploma required
- Current valid First Aid & CPR certification
- Criminal record check
- Extensive experience working with the elderly
- Impeccable written and oral communication skills
- Able to problem solve
- Nursing background an asset
- Knowledge of housekeeping activities & cooking with attention to dietary constraints
- Willingness to adhere to health & safety standards
- Respectful & compassionate
- Good time management skills
- Strong work ethic
