MacLaurin Fleet Services in St. Anns is a well established, family owned trucking and repair company that is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper/Office Administrator for their busy day to day operations. The successful candidate would work Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm.  Benefits are available after 90 days.

Duties:
  • General office administration and bookkeeping
  • Maintain up-to-date, complete and systematic filing system to support bookkeeping and financial records
  • Preparation of budget, financial forecast, cash flow and report variances
  • Account receivables and payables - collection and invoicing
  • Banking - Preparation of deposits and timely reconciliations
  • Payroll - Track and prepare payroll
  • Monthly reconciliations of financial accounts
  • Journal entries - monthly and year end
  • Prepare monthly financial reports including AP/AR
  • Summarizing credit card statements
  • Prepare and remit all government remittances OR comply with government reporting requirements
  • Prepare quarterly HST returns and monthly payroll deductions
  • Answer call and direct accordingly
  • Other duties as assigned/required
Requirements:
  • Financial and/or Accounting Diploma required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a bookkeeping/accounting position or similar experience
  • Basic knowledge of general accounting principles and procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
  • Experience using Simply Accounting/Sage is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines as well as adapt to changing priorities
  • An understanding and respect for confidentiality along with the ability to uphold this
  • A strong level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Good team player
  • Ability to work independently for long periods of time
  • Previous experience within a mechanic shop is an asset
  • Willingness to sign a non-disclosure agreement
