The Sales assistant is responsible for assisting the sales team with internal and some external communication of sales and shipment dates and the general administration and data entry of such role. Includes coordinating and communicating sales activities, answering and referring customer telephone calls, and emails and scheduling repeat orders.
- Encourage new sales opportunities with existing customers while preforming regular duties; always communicating new sales opportunities to sales team
- Support sales representative in quoting and tracking sales activities
- Provide administrative support to sales force, supporting the overall process of a sale
- Understand customer needs and requirements, responding to their inquires
- Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure
- Assist with administrative support and communication to close sales and achieve quarterly quotas
- Research accounts, identify key customers and advise sales staff of opportunities for improvement
- Communicate with customers using the utmost respect and representing Niagara Pallet appropriately focused on building long term relationships
- Communicate efficiently internally with Operations and Dispatch
- Communicate conflicts found through purchasing and delivery schedules
- Track purchase orders and amend changes immediately to avoid conflicts and double shipments
- Assist with Mulch sales, customer support and related administrative support in Mulch season
- Friendly phone presence and experience communicating with customers to achieve a positive outcome
- Ability to deal with conflict and defuse the situation
- Experience in an Administrative role
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong listening and verbal skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Team player approach
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and others
