Niagara Peninsula Aboriginal Area Management Board
Niagara Peninsula Area Aboriginal Management Board (NPAAMB) in a joint effort with our training partners will facilitate the training and placement of Aboriginal youth in the specialty Welding and Millwright fields through completion of a technical skills training program.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Trades Job Skills Coach will facilitate workshops and provide coaching and support to participants in the areas of life skills, employability skills and cultural opportunities. The Job Skills Coach will provide coaching and facilitation of curriculum based modules while supporting effective service delivery to ensure the projects align with NPAAMB’s long term strategic plan and the Contribution Agreement between NPAAMB and the funder. This is a Contract Position: (40 Hours per week; 52 weeks or until March 31, 2019).
- Five years experience in front line client service and/or youth worker or coach role
- 1-2 years experience with group facilitation
- Experience developing lesson plans
- Understanding of Industrial Millwright, Electrical and Welding trades and associated labour market information an asset
- Knowledge of relevant cultural traditions and Indigenous History
- Clear vulnerable sector check
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving abstract and access to insured, licenced automobile
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
