Niagara Peninsula Area Aboriginal Management Board (NPAAMB) in a joint effort with our training partners will facilitate the training and placement of Aboriginal youth in the specialty Welding and Millwright fields through completion of a technical skills training program.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Program Coordinator provide project coordination, support, occasional facilitation and effective service delivery to the Pre apprenticeship Welding and Millwright/Electrician programs to ensure the projects align with NPAAMB’s long term strategic plan and the Contribution Agreement between NPAAMB and the funder. This is a Contract Position: (40 Hours per week; 52 weeks or until March 31, 2019).
- Five years of progressive experience in a related field
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Child and Youth or related field or 3-5 years’ experience in front line client service and program coordination role
- 1-2 years experience working in trades related role as coordinator, recruitment or other
- Understanding of Industrial Millwright, Electrical and Welding trades and associated labour market information
- Knowledge of relevant cultural traditions and Indigenous History
- Clear vulnerable sector check
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving abstract and access to insured, licensed automobile
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
