Parker Bee Apiaries located in Beamsville is currently seeking a full time, seasonal Beekeeper/Apiary Technician. This position offers up to 40-plus hours per week throughout the season. We are currently hiring for the 2021 season.
Duties:
- Daily beehive management and maintenance
- Handle, feed and care for bee colonies
- Daily inspections of the general health of bee colonies and respond to any health issues that might arise
- Preparation of hives for transportation
- Preparation of hives for pollination
- Perform regular bee yard maintenance
- Operate and maintain machinery and equipment
- Assist in the harvest of honey
- Keep proper production records
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Experience in the Apiary field a definite asset, but not required
- Must be available to work long hours and regular overtime during the season
- Heavy lifting is required
- Must be a team player and be able to work well and efficiently alone or as part of a crew
