PL Light Systems

Reporting to the Production Manager, this role works as part of a team to assemble light and control units using prefabricated parts. This position offers full time hours Monday – Friday for a 3 month contract.

Work Hours:

  • 8:00 am to 4:30 pm – includes a 30 minute lunch break and two x 15 minute breaks
  • Occasional overtime
Duties:
  • Prepare the work station with required parts, tools and materials to maximize efficiency
  • Use various hand tools and equipment to perform the work required using the assigned blueprint
  • Maintain all equipment in clean and working condition
  • Complete the required documentation in a neat, timely and accurate manner
  • Inspect and test all completed work to ensure quality specifications and compliance standards are met
  • Repair or remove defective products and components
  • Comply with all health & safety policies and procedures
  • Achieve the established targets for completed work units
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area
  • Escalate issues and concerns to Production Manager
  • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned by the Production Manager

 

Requirements:

Work Environment:

  • Well-lit and organized production environment
  • Fast-paced

Physical Effort:

  • Standing for up to 8 hours per day – requires wide range of physical motions
  • Regular lifting and moving of product weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity

Mental Effort:

  • Work involves occasional short periods of concentration which result in a low degree of mental/sensory fatigue

Education/Work Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 - 6 months assembly experience

Behavioural Skills:

  • Basic communication skills – written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  •  Ability to learn quickly

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to read procedures and blueprints
  • Ability to use hand & power tools and test equipment
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks
  • Detail orientation
