Premier Kosher

Premier Kosher is looking to add a Shipper/Receiver to their team. The successful candidate would be responsible for tracking inventory levels, handling all aspects of shipping and receiving, and keeping accurate records. On the shipping side, they package items, print labels, weigh packages and apply applicable shipping labels.

Duties:
  • Identify products in boxes to determine how to weigh product
  • Operate and train others on scale set up and operation
  • Strap and store boxed poultry products that are ready for delivery to customers
  • Ensure work area is cleaned and sanitized for QA  inspection
  • Understanding the difference between Kosher vs Non Kosher products
  • Build orders based on shipping schedule
  • Weigh product and label as needed
  • Responsible for daily inventory counts for both meat products and raw materials (i.e. packaging)
  • Work closely with Supervisor to ensure inventory is at safe levels at all times
  • Load and unload trailers in a safe manner
  • Stage orders and use first in/first out methodology
  • Scanning and sorting incoming and outgoing stock.
  • Organize production area in a safe and efficient manner
  • Must wear proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times
  • Report any and all quality concerns promptly.
  • Other tasks and duties to be assigned as needed
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in shipping and receiving is an asset
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment an asset
  • Familiar with operating a Walkie an asset
  • Above average problem solving/trouble shooting/decision making skills
  • A mature outlook and good work ethic is essential
  • Willing to take initiative
  • A good understanding of English is an asset
  • Receiving, stocking, and stacking
  • Pulling, packing, and loading
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong sense of time organization and urgency
  • Able to work independently and within a team

Working Conditions:

  • Able to lift/handle up to 23kg/50lbs
  • Cold work environment – including freezer areas(Less than 4 degrees C)
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Poultry odour
  • Demanding timelines
  • Busy and hectic work environment
  • Must come prepared with safety shoes and warm clothing, including cotton gloves

Additional Info:

  • Monday to  Friday 6am – 3pm
  • No weekends unless production demands warrant it
