A local manufacturer of utility and custom built trailers in Smithville is looking to hire a full time Shear & Brake Press Operator to add to their team. This position offers full time hours Monday – Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
Duties:
- Operate power shear to cut metal used in fabrication of trailers
- Operate brake press to fabricate parts for use in trailer manufacturing
- Read blueprints to ensure fabrication is completed to spec
- Communicate with co-workers to ensure accuracy
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Other duties as required
Requirements:
- Prior experience is necessary, but job specific training is provided
- Must be comfortable and confident operating power and hand tools
- Reliable transportation is required
- Must be dependable to show up for all scheduled shifts
- Able to read and interpret blueprints
- Some heavy lifting is required; must be physically fit to do the job
- Able to work independently in a team environment
- Should possess good manual dexterity with strong attention to detail
