Shipper/Receiver/General Labourer -#6029 – L
The Shipper/Receiver/General Labourer is a key member of the production support team and is responsible for performing shipping, receiving, stock keeping and general labour activities. This is a Monday to Friday day shift position.
- Receiving and inspecting all incoming materials, preparing receiving reports, entering receipts in computer and reconciling amounts received to amounts ordered
- Assisting with maintaining job shelves in a neat and orderly manner
- Assisting with the return of unused purchased components ordered for specific jobs
- Assisting other supply chain personnel with following up on damaged goods received and/or other discrepancies on orders received
- Preparing packing slips and bills of lading
- Preparing courier parcels for pickup, coordinating courier pickups and maintaining shipping and packing supplies
- Crating/packaging machinery and other items in preparation for shipping
- Contacting customers regarding pick-ups or shipment of completed work orders
- Ensuring all final documentation and inspection is completed prior to shipments
- Obtaining quotes for trucking on smaller shipments, interplant and local pickups and deliveries
- Maintaining the stores areas and shipping/receiving areas in a neat and orderly manner
- Delivering components, raw materials and work in process to machine operators and machine assemblers, loading and unloading production machines
- Assisting with truck loading / operating forklift
- Assisting in waste collection, disposal and recycling activities
- Conduct inventory cycle counts and assist with annual inventory count as required
- Assist logistics coordinator with international shipments as requested
- Other duties as assigned
- 2 years related experience
- Knowledge of basic inventory control and materials management processes
- Ability to perform physical labor (lifting to 20 kgs unassisted)
- Familiarity with material handling equipment (forklifts, hand trucks, material carts, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word, QuickBooks an asset
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Confident, self-starter
- Must have a clean driver record and valid driver’s licence
- Licenced fork lift operator
This position reports directly to the Logistics & Inventory Coordinator. There are no positions reporting to this position.
