WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Reporting to the plant manager and working with a team to perform tasks involved in fabrication of hollow core and solid concrete walls. Rebar fabricator, hollowcore producers, precast element fabricators and concrete finishers. Stubbe’s is located in Port Weller (St.Catherine’s).
THE DAY TO DAY:
- Set up, adjust and operate single function machines to mix, drill, grind and cut concrete to specifications
- Position reinforcing rods or wire mesh in molds and fill molds with concrete from suspended pouring buckets
- Remove casting from mold with crane or forklift, and finish surfaces of castings using screened or trowel
- Check product length, width and notch locations
- Clean & oil beds
- Layout beds
- Organize tools
- Load hollow core using proper stacking methods
- Place, vibrate, and finish concrete
- Understand basics of quality control
- Clean work space on a regular basis
- Load bulk tank trucks
- Transporting of cement from warehouse to silo’s and from cargo ship
- Other duties as requested by management
WHAT YOU NEED:
An effective Labourer must have the following:
- Must be hard working, punctual and a dedicated team player
- Construction and/or production experience an asset
- Ability to read blue prints an asset
- Experience with hand tools
- Experience as a labourer in concrete an asset
- Manual dexterity, hand eye co-ordination
- Experience in carpentry or woodworking an asset
- Ability to read a tape measure (metric/imperial) and drawings an asset
- Must have good organizational skills
- Ability to lift and manipulate objects up to 50 lbs
- Able to speak and read English is an asset
Weekly Schedule: Monday-Friday, dayshift
