Director of Legislative Services Clerk – #8167 – A

The Municipality of the Township of West Lincoln is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Director of Legislative Services/Clerk.
Reporting to the CAO, as part of the Management team, the position will perform all statutory duties in accordance with the Municipal Act and other applicable legislation by providing effective leadership and direction in the planning, coordination and management of the Clerk’s Office and to fulfill expertly the statutory office of the Township Clerk, pursuant to the Municipal Act, 2001 and other provincial legislation, as applicable. The Clerk provides guidance, support and legislative advice to the Senior Management Team and acts as parliamentarian to Township Council and coordinates the secretariat functions for all Council and Standing Committee meetings.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Business, Political Science, Public Administration, or a related field, have obtained a certification as an Accredited Ontario Municipal Clerk (AMCTO), and have a minimum of 5 years related progressive experience as a Municipal Clerk or Deputy Clerk.
The Municipality offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefit plan, including registration with OMERS pension. The salary for this position is currently set at $116,966.46 to $143,451.78 annually. This is a permanent full-time position working 35 hours per week.
