Upper Canada Cheese Company
As the first small, modern Niagara creamery in generations, Upper Canada Cheese Company hand crafts premium artisan cheeses from the milk of local Guernsey cows. Currently, we are seeking two Production Assistants. This position offers full time hours, 35 – 40 hours per week with a company paid benefits package after 6 months. Early morning hours, some weekend shifts.
Duties:
Develop an understanding of and assist with all aspects of the cheese making process, which includes, but is not limited to:
- Washing cheese
- Wrapping and storing cheese
- Shipping and packing
- Daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance
- Assist the cheese makers during production
- Maintain all standards of health and safety
- Assist with other duties as required
Requirements:
- Working in extreme hot and cold environments; high humidity environment 75F , 80%RH and 52F, 90%RH
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Good physical fitness
- Excellent personal hygiene
- Own transportation
- Employer will train
- Available for early morning starts and some weekend shifts
- Employer will provide uniform and steel toe boots
