Flowers say many things that words cannot. Van Geest Bros. seeks to supply quality fresh cut flowers to the satisfaction of it’s customers.

We value our people and their families and we are looking for a driver to join our team during our busy season. Our driver will be responsible for loading the delivery vehicle and delivering our flowers directly to our customers on a timely basis.

Requirements:

Core Competencies

  • A dedicated mature driver, with a proven safety record and a valid G license. An air brake license (Z Endorsement) would be considered an asset
  • Experience operating and driving a van and a straight truck (less than 4,600 kg with 2 axels) to transport flowers
  • Demonstrate established time management, multi-tasking skills and able to work to deadlines
  • Customer focused and strong communication skills
  • Proven documentation knowledge: driver logbook, bill of lading, maintenance & repair reports, trip reports and accident or incident reports
  • Experience monitoring vehicle performance, mechanical fitness and condition
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Fosters positive working relationships
  • Dependable
  • Has good judgement and is a problem solver.
  • Capacity to take initiatives.
  • Other core competencies will be defined by the company.

Physical Requirements

Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, bending down and handling of materials.

  • Move or lift heavy objects up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to balance, reach and grasp products

Work Schedule

  • Must have own transportation.
  • Approximately 30 hours per week. Able to work flexible hours.
  • Seasonal, with the potential to work beyond our busy season.
  • Driving area: Niagara and Mississauga
