VRE Systems is a family-owned manufacturing company providing products and services to the retail garden centre, horticultural, greenhouse and agricultural industries. We manufacture products such as various types of curtain systems, roll up walls, monorail systems, fabrics, transportation carts, as well as food and pharmaceutical products.

We are currently seeking a General Labourer to join our team.

Duties:
  • Follow project instructions from Lead Hand / Production Supervisor / Logistics Manager / Production Manager
  • Make and produce all product according to VRE Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Standards
  • Follow all quality control procedures to meet quality objectives
  • Use tools and equipment to complete daily tasks
  • Clean and clear debris. Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Ensure equipment and tools are cleaned and properly stored
  • Responsible for conducting general maintenance functions
  • Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Assist other team members within various departments as required—based on demands
  • Report any problems with equipment or inventory to the Lead Hand / Production Supervisor / Logistics Manager / Production Manager
  • Ensure regulated and proper headgear, ear plugs, gloves, safety glasses and clothing are worn
  • Work in compliance with all Health and Safety, Workplace and WHMIS regulations
  • Duties and responsibilities may be amended from time to time in order to support efficient company operations
Requirements:
  • 1+ year(s) of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • High school or equivalent educational experience; trade apprenticeships an asset
  • Be mechanically inclined – visualize how pieces work together
  • Familiar & comfortable with a variety of tools including pressure washers, hand tools, drills, saws, grinders
  • Strong understanding of both Imperial and Metric measurements and be able to accurately use measuring tools
  • Fork lift licence an asset

Work Conditions:

  • Physical demands include: lift up to 40lbs; stand, sit, and bend for long periods
  • Interaction with team members and all levels of management
  • Working in a loud, busy production environment with frequent interruptions
  • Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm, with occasional overtime
  • Location is not public transportation accessible
