JOB SUMMARY
The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for innovating and managing the day-to-day operations of the West Lincoln Chamber of Commerce office and building strong relationships between members, as well as with members, potential members, the business community, elected officials, local community groups, and Chamber peers. The ED is a well-rounded business professional eager to take on a wide range of tasks, projects and deadlines, and be responsible for performing all duties necessary to keep the Chamber a vibrant, relevant, and engaged presence within our local and regional business community.
Member Relationships
- Develop relationships with members and potential members learning about their business and their expectations of the Chamber. Innovate, plan and execute a variety of member events designed to further the members’ perceived value of the Chamber.
Member Communications, Sales and Marketing
- Innovate, plan and execute growth plans to secure new members, solicit event sponsorship revenue, and promote advertising programs. Manage communications and social media activities. Update the back-end of the website.
Advocacy and Community Relationships
- Build relationships with community groups and with all levels of government to be part of the conversation regarding business and economic development in our community. Prepare and communicate official position statements on public issues.
Administration
- Maintain office and administrative duties. Participate in Board of Director meetings. Oversee various committees to ensure they deliver their mandates. Recruit and manage intern staff, volunteers, and contractors.
Financial Management
- Oversee all financial aspects, including invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgeting, funding applications, and financial reporting. Collaborate with the bookkeeper on government remittances

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Post-secondary diploma or degree, ideally in business, communications, marketing, event management, or public administration
- Minimum of five years’ work experience, ideally in sales, management, or office management
- Not-for-profit experience, either paid or volunteer, is an asset
- Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract and vehicle to travel
- Strong office technology skills including Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Zoom, and Canva
- Proficient in social media platforms including FaceBook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube
- Some experience managing the back-end of a website and familiarity with QuickBooks, an asset
- Availability to work evenings or weekends when necessary
JOB TYPE
Full-time permanent, 32-hours per week, Monday-Friday
