West Lincoln Chamber of Commerce
The West Lincoln Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit, membership-driven organization which supports and represents over 120 local businesses & community organizations in the Town of West Lincoln and surrounding area.
We are seeking a detailed oriented self-starter to provide administrative, event and marketing support to increase membership engagement and promotion.
Reporting to the Executive Director, this support role will assist with developing sales, marketing & communication initiatives, database management, website updates, social media updates, software integration, event support and day-to-day administrative duties as required.
This position is made possible through the assistance of the Canada Summer Jobs Grant and will provide for full time employment for an 8 week period from June to August. As a requirement of the grant applicants must be 29 years of age or younger.
- Research and develop media & communications materials including social media, electronic newsletters, marketing strategies and print advertising
- Manage member & email distribution databases
- Website maintenance and content updates (WordPress)
- Social media updates (Facebook)
- Event planning & support
- Administrative duties including filing, trade & industry research, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and/or Board of Directors
- Must be comfortable working in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher) and WordPress
- Graphic design experience an asset
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Must be available and comfortable working remotely as well as from the office located in Smithville, ON
- Valid drivers licence with own transportation is an asset
- Current enrollment or a graduate of a post secondary program related to event management and/or marketing is an asset
